Benefits of the CDCP

Helpful Information for Your Family’s Oral Health

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) provides essential relief by removing the financial barriers to quality oral healthcare. Specifically designed to support individuals and families who don’t have access to private insurance, this federal program ensures you can receive necessary treatments without the stress of high costs.

Everyone deserves a healthy smile, and the CDCP makes professional dental care more accessible and affordable for qualifying Canadians. At Graystone Dental, we are here to help you maximize these benefits so you can maintain your oral health with confidence.

Who is Eligible?

Checking Your Eligibility for the CDCP

We’re pleased to share that Graystone Dental is accepting patients covered by the Canadian CDCP. This federal initiative helps ensure that individuals and families can access high-quality dental care without the financial burden.

As of 2026, the program has expanded to include eligible Canadians of all ages. You may be eligible for the CDCP if you meet the following criteria:

  • No Access to Private Insurance: You do not have dental coverage through an employer, pension, or private plan.
  • Income Requirements: Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000.
Residency: You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
  • Tax Filing: You have filed your tax return for the previous year.

Your dental health is a vital part of your overall well-being. We encourage you to take advantage of this program to keep your smile healthy and bright. For more details on how to apply or renew your coverage, contact us or visit the official Government of Canada website.

Frequently Asked Questions

CDCP Frequently Asked Questions

Will the CDCP cover the full cost of my dental visit?

Whether your visit is fully covered depends on your family’s adjusted net income. The plan covers a percentage of the fees set by the CDCP:

  • Under $70,000: 100% of CDCP fees are covered.
  • $70,000–$79,999: 60% of CDCP fees are covered (you pay a 40% co-payment).
  • $80,000–$89,999: 40% of CDCP fees are covered (you pay a 60% co-payment).

It’s important to note that CDCP fees may be different from the standard provincial dental rates. If there is a difference between what the plan pays and our clinic’s standard fees, a small “gap” fee may apply at the time of your appointment.

How do I apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

Applications are handled by Service Canada. You can apply online through the official Government of Canada website or by phone. To complete your application, have the following ready:

  • Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Your date of birth
  • Your most recent tax return information (to confirm your income and residency)

Do I need to renew my coverage every year?

Yes. To keep your benefits active, you must renew your coverage every year. This allows the government to confirm that you still meet the income requirements and do not have access to private dental insurance. Be sure to file your taxes on time each year to avoid any delays in your renewal.
